Mr Elia Matias
Egypt
OPS/BLD/SPS/M
G-7
EOD UNESCO 1990

Given my experience gained in recent years in the STU Council and its Executive Bureau, and given the satisfactory results achieved by the STU Council (notably evaluation of the mobility exercise, revision of the Statutes of the Appeals Board), I decided to ask again your vote and your confidence to meet new challenges together.

If re-elected, I pledge to continue and strengthen, with even more efficiency, the collective work to achieve the objectives of the STU: to ensure fair, transparent and healthy working conditions for the entire staff of UNESCO, whatever their status and duty station, to safeguard their collective and individual rights and interests and to support colleagues in difficulty.

I know from experience that the best way to prevent and resolve conflict is to ensure the strict application, by the Administration and the staff members, of the provisions of the texts in force and Standards of Conduct for International Civil Servants. You can count on my determination and support.

Elected on 23 March 2022 by the STU members for two years (April 2022 – March 2024), Elia Matias is also member of the 15th STU Executive Bureau.
