STU must ensure that vacated posts are not systematically downgraded, a short-sighted bean-counter’s staff policy which engenders widespread frustration by hampering career development and tending to favour candidates with insufficient work experience and institutional memory. I will fight to prevent the Member States from forcing the Director-General, in violation of the Constitution, to cut posts.
Elected on 30 March 2012 by the STU members for two years (April 2012 – March 2014), Steve Hewitt is also member of the 6th STU Executive Bureau.
