Open dialogue between staff and management remains essential if the Organization is to implement its mandate in the best possible conditions.

The latest HRM statistics show that the Organization's staff is increasingly made up of precarious contracts, a trend which may profoundly change the nature of the international civil service, and the rights of civil servants.

I'm convinced that the work STU has done over the last two years has gone in the right direction, supporting the creation of an environment where everyone, including affiliated staff, is fairly represented.

But there is still much work to be done: STU must continue to ensure that the collective and individual rights and interests of staff are protected, wherever and whenever necessary, both at Headquarters and in the Field.

I'm motivated to continue to do my utmost to help the collective interests and enhance the passion and motivation behind the personal commitment of all of us to this wonderful idea that is UNESCO.

Re-elected on 20 March 2024 by the STU members for two years (April 2024 – March 2026), Mr. Davide Storti is also member of the 17th STU Executive Bureau.
